Oral Toilet (Unconscious):
I have identified the patient as ____ by checking her wristband. I have told her what we're going to do to alley anxiety and obtain maximum cooperation. Before the procedure, I have checked the solution in the following ways: I have checked that the label is not torn, wet, damaged or defaced, that it is the correct solution, and has not expired. As the opening date is less than a week, hence it can still be used. I have also checked that the cap is tightly sealed, and there are no cracks, odour or discolouration. I have held the bottle at horizontal eye level to check for cracks in the bottle, or sediments and foreign particles in the solution.

Now Nurse 1 will place a bib on _____ to prevent her from soiling her clothes. She will then squeeze dry the cotton wool swabs, and apply sodium bicarbonate on ____'s teeth, cleaning as much teeth as possible, and using each swab only once. She will then dispose of the swabs, and apply thermal gargle using the same method. She will also apply lip moisturizer on _____, remove the bib, and clear the area.
